Murray focuses on positives after Ireland's draw

Scrum-half Conor Murray admits he's at a loss as to why the points have dried up for Ireland at the business end of their RBS 6 Nations matches this season - but insists there's no reason to reach for the panic button.
In letting a ten-point half-time lead slip against France on Saturday – les Bleus leaving Dublin with a 13-13 draw thanks to Louis Picamoles’ converted try – Ireland remain without a point in the last 20 minutes of all four of their matches.

They have started second halves impressively – Brian O’Driscoll and Craig Gilroy have scored tries within five minutes of the restart against Wales and Scotland respectively – but Ronan O’Gara’s second penalty against England is the only time Ireland have troubled the scores in the last half an hour.

As a result, Ireland held on for victory over Wales but succumbed to England and Scotland prior to Saturday’s second successive RBS 6 Nations draw with France.

As has often been the case, Ireland impressed in the first half against les Bleus, controlling territory with Murray’s superb box-kicking earning him the man-of-the-match award.

But despite getting an all too familiar feeling as Ireland allowed a lead to slip, Murray is not overly concerned.

“We wanted to come out this week and give a good performance. I think we did that,” he said.

"It's not quite like a defeat but it is disappointing the way the draw happened. We were ahead all game and they levelled it quite late.

“There's no issue of confidence within the team. We're not getting smashed by teams, we're creating a lot, we're controlling games and we're controlling territory.

"It's little things like when we needed to keep the scoreboard ticking over in the second half and we probably would have kicked on again.

"I can't put my finger on why we didn't do that but there's no need to panic.”
