Sergio Parisse returns to captain Italy for their RBS 6 Nations clash with England on Sunday as coach Jacques Brunel rings the changes ahead of his side's trip to Twickenham.
After the talismanic skipper’s ban was reduced, Parisse has been cleared to win his 94th cap for the Azzurri, replacing Manoa Vosawai, who deputised against Wales, in the No.8 jersey.

Elsewhere in the back row, Robert Barbieri comes into the side at the expense of Simone Favaro as Brunel makes seven changes in total to the side that were defeated 26-9 by Wales in Rome.

Joshua Furno and Quintin Geldenhuys form a new look second row while Alberto de Marchi enters the fray at loosehead prop with Andrea Lo Cicero taking his place on the bench as he looks for his 102nd cap.

In the backs, Luciano Orquera, the architect behind Italy’s opening victory over France, is restored to the starting line-up at fly-half, replacing Kristopher Burton, to take his place alongside Edoardo Gori.

And in the centres, Tommaso Benvenuti is dropped to the bench in a move that sees Gonzalo Canale shift a place to outside centre and Gonzalo Garcia handed the No.12 jersey.

Upon hearing the news that Parisse’s ban would be downgraded to 20 days, therefore making him eligible to face England, Italy team manager Luigi Troiani said: “We’re satisfied to discover that Sergio Parisse’s suspension has been reduced to 20 days and therefore he will be available for the next two Six Nations matches.

“Sergio is an important element in this group and we cannot be anything but delighted that he will be available to the coach Brunel, for the matches against England and Ireland.”
