England Women's captain Sarah Hunter looks unlikely to get her hands on the RBS 6 Nations trophy come the end of the campaign
Street looking for England Women to battle right to the end

The RBS 6 Nations title might be out of reach but England Women's head coach Gary Street is urging his troops to finish their campaign in style in their final two games.
Defeats to Ireland and France have left England all but unable to defend their RBS 6 Nations title, meaning there will almost certainly be a new winner of the competition for the first time in eight years.

But despite this Street insists there is still plenty to play for with Italy and then Wales still to come.

Street has rung the changes for the visit of Italy on Saturday, making seven personnel changes and two positional from the 30-20 defeat of France at Twickenham.

The majority of these changes take place among the forwards with Roz Crowley, Victoria Fleetwood and Laura Keates forming an entirely new front row.

In the second row Emily Braund, who last featured in England’s opening Six Nations win over Scotland, is back in alongside Jo McGilchrist, who moves in from the back row.

Skipper Sarah Hunter also moves to flanker, giving Harriet Millar-Mills a start at No. 8.

There are only two changes in the backline, with Lydia Thompson coming in on the wing in place of Kay Wilson and Georgina Gulliver starting at scrum-half.

On the bench Fiona Davidson could be set to start her first-ever Six Nations game while prop Kate Newton also returns as Street bids to reignite their RBS 6 Nations campaign.

Street said: “Two weeks ago we were defeated by a really good French side who I think have the potential to win the World Cup next year, especially as the tournament is in France.

“We also didn’t perform to our usual standards but we have got to put that behind us and move on. We have picked ourselves up and I am hopeful that our young players will have learned from that defeat, and the one against Ireland. We have already had some really encouraging feedback so we are feeling positive.

“Italy, however, cannot be taken for granted. They have, after all, beaten France in the opening game of the Six Nations. They are a physical and determined side and we’ll definitely have to be on top of our game to beat them.”
