Taylor vows Ireland Under-20s will bounce back

Ireland Under-20s prop Chris Taylor knows his side were dealt a serious blow to their RBS 6 Nations title hopes in Galashiels last weekend.
But the Ulsterman insists he and his teammates will bounce back stronger for the experience in time to face a France side in a similar predicament.

The two sides have both won one and lost two of their first three Championship encounters but it was the manner of last weekend’s defeat to Scotland that hurt Taylor the most.

Tommy Allan’s last-gasp conversion of Damien Hoyland’s second try of the night sealed a 21-20 win for the hosts and sent Taylor and co back to the drawing board.

“Fair play to Scotland, they came out firing and we just didn’t match them enough,” he said.

“We just have to pick up from this before we go to France and play them, we need to push on from this.

“The result is huge in terms of the Six Nations, it’s a big setback, but our long term goal is the World Cup.

“We will learn from the mistakes that we have made here and aim to push on from here.”
