Andy Robinson
Andy Robinson decided to call it a day after Scotland suffered a disappointing loss to Tonga in Edinburgh
Robinson steps down as Scotland coach

Scotland are searching for a new head coach following Andy Robinson's decision to step down from his post after defeat to Tonga.
Robinson’s men slipped to a disappointing 21-15 reverse at the hands of Tonga in Aberdeen on Saturday, their third autumn Test loss following defeats at the hands of New Zealand and South Africa at Murrayfield.

And although losing to the reigning World Cup champions and a strong Springbok outfit is no disgrace, Robinson branded the loss to Tonga as ‘unacceptable’.

Robinson had been in charge of Scotland for three-and-a-half years and believes he leaves the squad in a better shape than what he found it in.

"It's been a privilege to be the head coach of Scotland and I'd like to thank the fans, players, coaches and staff for all their support,” said Robinson, who failed to lead Scotland to a single point at the 2012 RBS 6 Nations.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the players and the coaches.

"I believe I have left the team in a better position than when I took over and have great confidence in the players and the coaches for the future.

"I am very disappointed by our recent results but I have belief in the players to develop into a winning team."
